Southern California Public Power Authority Names Daniel E. Garcia as Executive Director
Glendora, CA – May 1, 2024 – The Board of Directors of the Southern California Public Power Authority (SCPPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel E. Garcia as its new Executive Director. Mr. Garcia brings 40 years of leadership and utility industry experience to the role, where he will drive SCPPA’s mission of delivering cost-effective and sustainable energy solutions for the benefits of its members.
Daniel E. Garcia joins SCPPA from Riverside Public Utilities, where he held the position of Interim General Manager. His extensive experience and strategic vision align perfectly with SCPPA’s goals and will be instrumental in leading the organization through its next phase of growth and innovation.
“Danny Garcia’s experience and extensive knowledge of the utility industry and its unique challenges make him the right person to lead SCPPA.” Said Tikan Singh president of the SCPPA Board of Directors. “We are excited to have him at the helm, steering our collective efforts toward a brighter more sustainable future in public power.”
In his new role, Garcia will oversee all aspects of SCPPA’s operations, including project development, financial strategy, and member relations. He will also work closely with SCPPA staff and member agencies to ensure that the Authority continues to meet the evolving needs of the members it serves while maintaining a strong focus on environmental stewardship and economic efficiency.
