In 2010 SCPPA prepaid for 20 years of wind energy from the Milford Wind Farm in Milford, Utah. Operated by First Wind O & M, LLC, the Milford Wind Corridor Phase I project consists of 97 turbines and connects to the Intermountain Power Project switchyard, sending its energy to California via the Southern Transmission System. Milford Phase I has two types of turbines on its property. There are 58 Clipper Liberty C100 2.5 MW turbines with a rotor diameter of 100 meters and 39 GE Energy 1.5sle 1.5 MW turbines with a rotor diameter of 77 meters. Both types of turbines stand at 80 meters tall.
Adjacent to Phase I, Milford Wind Corridor Phase II is comprised of 68 wind turbine generators and it also directs its energy to California via the Southern Transmission System. Built two years after Phase I, SCPPA entered into a prepaid energy agreement in 2011 for a 20 year term. The 68 turbines at Milford Phase II are GE Energy 1.5sle 1.5 MW turbines with a rotor diameter of 77 meters. These turbines are 80 meters tall.
