Southern California Public Power Authority

COVID-19 Update

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, SCPPA has taken action tsupport the safety and health of Members, staff, and the community through social distancing. Our Glendora and Sacramento offices are currently closed; however, SCPPA staff continue to work from home to provide our Members with excellent service. We continue to be available by phone and email.

Due to the approaching deadlines for contractual commitments, SCPPA Leadership has decided to cancel the Annual Meeting, previously scheduled for 5/21. We hope to plan an event later in the year to celebrate SCPPA’s 40th anniversary, once it is safe to do so. We also hope to deliver focused workshops, perhaps in the summer or fall, to cover the important topics we had planned for the Annual Meeting (such as wildfires, new technology, and electrification).

Southern California Public Power Authority (SCPPA) is a Joint Powers Authority, created in 1980, for the purpose of providing joint planning, financing, construction, and operation of transmission and generation projects.

Comprised of eleven municipal utilities and one irrigation district, SCPPA's Members serve more than 5 million Californians (2 million customers) across a service area of 7,000 square miles. SCPPA's Members supply 16% of California's power.
